Amway Global Kicks for Kids program
Amway Global is now the official sponsor of the Kicks for Kids program that focuses on fitness and healthy lifestyles, as well as bringing underprivileged children to Earthquakes games. Through the program, Earthquakes players will visit 15 schools or community centers in the Bay Area to discuss the importance of being active and living a healthy lifestyle. At each event, the player will also distribute tickets and replica jersey shirts to 150 children per school. Amway Global and the Earthquakes also will sponsor the Hispanic Youth Soccer Scholarship Program. This program will pay the expenses for one year of soccer for a deserving youth player in the Bay Area.

One Man, Carl F. RehnborgPrior to 1934, there were no known multivitamin/multimineral supplements. People found it difficult to know if they were getting enough nutrients in their daily diets. Then, Carl Rehnborg, founder of the NUTRILITE brand, created his first nutrition product and became a pioneer in the history of nutrition. |
His Dream
While living in China in the early 1920s, Carl Rehnborg noticed, amid unforgettable malnutrition and disease, an important connection between the foods people ate and their overall health.
- In farming communities, where fresh fruits and vegetables were plentiful, people were much healthier overall.
- In the cities, where diets included far more sugar, salt, and fat, Carl noted that there were many more instances of critical diseases, such as scurvy and beriberi.
During political unrest in Shanghai, Carl was isolated in a protected enclave. There, he conceived the idea of using nutritional elements missing from the typical diet as a way to improve overall health.
- Carl supplemented his meager diet with soups from what was available: local herbs, grasses, and vegetables, along with rusty nails (for iron), and lime stone and ground-up animal bones (for calcium).
- He shared his broth with a few friends, although the flavor was far from palatable.
- Months later, Carl and his friends who ate the nutrient-rich broth emerged from their enclave much healthier than those who had eaten only army rations.
Returning to the United States, Carl set up a small laboratory on California's Balboa Island, where, over the next six years, he conducted experiments using different plant varieties.
- He developed a way to dry these plants while still preserving their important nutrients.
- He created a formulation of alfalfa, watercress, and parsley, which became the basis of his first product.
Ultimately, Carl Rehnborg created the first multivitamin/multimineral supplement sold in North America.
Our Legacy
Since 1934, when the first NUTRILITE product was introduced, the company has become a leader in nutrition research, development, and innovation.

Just as Carl had created the first multivitamin/multimineral supplement sold in North America, he also pioneered an early multi-level marketing system and a revolutionary new business model still in use today.
The two people who guided the NUTRILITE brand to its present-day business success story were Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel. Rich and Jay had been distributing NUTRILITE products for 10 years before they founded Amway in 1959, so they were dedicated to the quality of the products and committed to the integrity of the brand.
Today, the NUTRILITE brand is sold exclusively by Amway and Quixtar Independent Business Owners worldwide.

History, as seen through the rear-view mirror, offers a markedly different perspective than when you are trying to make sense of it as it happens, unfolding before your eyes through the windshield.
It’s easy to see how something works after the “facts” are all in and the successful pieces fit have proven to come snugly together.
For example, it would be easy, here in 2009, to view XS Energy Drinks’ sensational success as a preordained phenomenon that was bound to happen. But to gain a more accurate glimpse of its history, consider this September 2002 reality: Quixtar.com, now known as Amway Global, had some substantial misgivings about XS’s market potential.
So when the corporation agreed to take on XS for a trial period, it purchased an initial, supply of only 2,700 cases, each consisting of a dozen 8.4-ounce cans. It was forecast to be a six-month supply.
At the time, IBOs were about to answer the question of how they would do when given an opportunity to market a competitive product that offered solid profit margins and rapid turn-around time for additional orders.
XS Energy Drink’s well-established sampling success was about to go viral, with tens of thousands of enthusiastic samplers, each with a direct stake in the drink’s success.
Of course, now we know the rest of the story: over the three-day weekend of the XS launch, it was sold out. Within three weeks, Quixtar IBOs sold more than 50,000 cases.
At that point, daily volume approximated Quixtar’s projections for a full half-year. It was generally agreed that the “trial period” had successfully concluded.
